Center for Women & Work: Emerging Scholars

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

The Center for Women and Work is proud to present the Emerging Scholars Program
for the upcoming 2017-2018 academic year! This program matches qualified rising
Juniors and Seniors in the College of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences with an experienced faculty partner to participate in cutting edge research.

Emerging Scholars will provide students with a
unique year-long opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge gained from courses at UMass Lowell to a faculty member’s on-going research while enhancing knowledge of research methods, technical skills, and research presentation. Working collaboratively with a faculty partner will allow students to gain a unique learning experience unlike any they will receive in a classroom as well as to work one-
on-one with a faculty mentor.

The Emerging Scholars Program presents an
invaluable opportunity for meaningful student engagement in research activities. Not only will participation enhance students’ credentials but it will be especially valuable for those students who wish to pursue graduate-level education.
Students who apply to this exciting program will develop research skills that will help them in academia and beyond!
